Spacial Awareness

posted in Cat Stories |

‘Spacial Awareness’ is defined as the recognition of the distance between objects. More specifically to a person’s ability to judge where they are in relation to the objects around them. Leonard does not have ‘Spacial Awareness’.

I’ve lost count of the times I have kicked/trodden on/fallen over him in the course of a day. He insists on walking right up to, and usually slightly in front of you as you walk along.

When we were building our patio last year I spent a lot of time wheeling rubble in my wheelbarrow.

Of course Leonard helped. Walking along side the heavily laden barrow but just in front so I couldn’t actually see him. How disaster was averted I will never know.

I fear one day one of us will come to harm, because I can’t see him changing. I just have to make sure I have my wits about me at all times. Quite a tall order!
